Thanks to the demand response and smart grid community for attending the 2010
National Town Meeting on Demand Response and Smart Grid on June
23 & 24, 2010, in Washington, DC!
Based on feedback received on site at the event, it seems to have been the
best Town Meeting to date! It certainly was the largest, with nearly 400 stakeholders
attending. And judging from the speakers’ engagement, the questions from
attendees, and the vigorous discussions before, during, and after sessions,
it may prove to be a pivotal event in moving the demand response and smart
grid agenda forward.
Additional thanks goes to Congressman Ed Markey (D-MA), who took time out
of his schedule as the Chair of the House Select Committee on Energy Independence & Global
Warming and the Chair of the House Energy & Environment Subcommittee to
explain why demand response and smart grid are so important to him---and why
he values the work being done by the National Town Meeting participants.
